Day 1: Temple & Nature Tour (7:30 AM Start)
Begin at the Gokarna Mahabaleshwar Temple, one of the 7 sacred Muktikshetras and home to the original Atma-Linga of Lord Shiva, built in the 4th Century Dravidian style. Next, visit the Yana Caves, famous for the twin limestone monoliths Bhairaveshwara Shikhara (120 m) and Mohini Shikhara (90 m), reached by a 1 km walk through the Sahyadri forest. End the day at the Vibhuti Waterfalls, a hidden gem reached by a short 20-minute trek and best seen in October. Return to Gokarna for an overnight stay at Poornima Beach Stay.
Day 2: Beaches & Boating Special
Start with a premium 3-hour boat tour covering Tadadi Fishing Harbour, the Mystery Caves and lighthouse view, Dolphin Point, and Paradise Beach and Half Moon Beach, which can be reached only by boat. Kayaking is available at Half Moon Beach. Boat and kayaking charges are paid directly and are extra (boat approx. Rs. 1500-2000 per boat). Then continue by car to Belekhan Beach and the Gogarbha Shiva Caves, followed by Kudle Beach and Om Beach, which is naturally shaped like the 'Om' symbol and perfect for sunset and photography.
Day 3: Heritage & Drop (9:00 AM Start)
Visit the 16th Century Mirjan Fort, known as the Pepper Fort and built by Queen Chennabhairadevi, spread over 4.1 acres. Continue to Honnavar for a peaceful Sharavati backwater boat ride, walk the 500 m Mangrove Forest Boardwalk, and stop at Eco Beach, Kasarkod, a Blue Flag Certified beach. Finish with darshan at the Murudeshwar Temple and its 123 ft tall Lord Shiva statue. The drop is at Murudeshwar Bus Station / Highway at 4:00 PM, where you can take a room to freshen up and catch your return bus.
